Licensed Psychotherapist (Social Worker, Nurse, OT)

Psychotherapists are licensed by one of the following regulatory colleges in Ontario: the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), the Ontario College of Nurses, or the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.

Psychotherapists have advanced training in mental health treatment and provide psychotherapy.


Clinicians Supervised by Psychologist

Our supervised clinicians provide psychotherapy and assessment under the license of a supervising Psychologist, who is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Supervised Clinicians have advanced training in psychology. They may be practicum students completing training, or they may be clinicians who are preparing to register with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Karen Walters is a Social Worker, Psychotherapist, licensed by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She provides psychotherapy to teens (12+) and adults at our St. Catharines office and online.

Karen has over 10 years of experience providing programming to adults and teens in the areas of education, mental health, and healthcare. She has worked for over 5 years in clinical hospital environments. She is skilled at developing a warm, empathic, trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients and works from an anti-oppressive stance. Her therapeutic work incorporates aspects of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.

Karen completed her Masters of Social Work degree at Laurier University. As part of her masters degree, she completed her clinical practicum internship with youth and adolescents with mental health concerns, behavioural concerns, She has also completed training in education and obtained her Canadian Teacher Secondary Program Certificate in 2003. Over the past several years, she has completed trainings in the areas of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and Indigenous cultural training.

Areas of Practice

Sabrina provides psychotherapy to teens and adults presenting with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, and life transitions.

She also provides client-centred therapy and mindfulness skills training.

Andrea Paschert is a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist who provides psychotherapy to teens and adults at our St. Catharines office and online. Andrea works with each client to individualize their therapy to their unique needs. ###Areas of Practice### As a registered nurse, Andrea can provide her clients with an outlook that incorporates both medicine and psychotherapy. She has the understanding to help her clients cope with their mental health issues and understand how this can affect their physical being. Andrea completed a diploma in nursing at the Mack School of Nursing at Niagara College in 1995. Training & Experience

Jennifer completed a Masters of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE/UT) in 2020. She previously obtained an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Brock University in 2016.
